It has also been found that the ingredients in E-liquid may cause irritation to the respiratory tract, especially to those individuals who are asthmatic or allergic to propylene glycol or ethylene glycol, two ingredients commonly found in E-liquid. Long-term E-liquid use has also been linked to a variety of lung injury, especially to those individuals who are asthmatic or allergic to either menthol or citrus flavors. Long-term lung injury has also been connected with long-term smoking of cigarettes, even though no long-term E-liquid use was involved.
